Dr. Matemu is a senior lecturer in the Department of Food and Nutritional Sciences at NM-AIST. With more than 8 years of research experience, Dr. Matemu has been involved in multidisciplinary research and outreach activities. Dr. Matemu’s research interest lie in the areas of value addition to agro-products/ignored indigenous food/products (edible/inedible wild mushrooms & edible insects), functional foods and food safety. She has published over 15 papers and gave more than 20 presentations in international conferences. She is also an instructor for different subjects under the field of food science and biotechnology. She is also supervising a number postgraduate students. |
