Bio

Prof. Balogun got his B.Sc. in Sciences-Physics and Mathematics from the University of Toronto in 1966, M.Sc. in 1967 and PhD in 1972 from the University of Chicago.


He served at the University of Obafemi Awolowo as: Assistant Researcher, Lecturer, Senior Lecturer then Professor (1983). He was Research Coordinator, Head of Physics Department, Coordinator of African Space Science Centre and Director of Ecology and Environmental Studies Institute.

He is currently at the Department of Physics of Obafemi University. His research interests include: Physics and Meteorology. He has been:  Visiting Research Associate at University of Chicago, Visiting Scientist and Fulbright-Hays Research Scholar at Wisconsin University, WMO Visiting Professor, Nigerian Member for WMO Commission, Visiting Lecturer at Ibadan University, Fellow of Royal Meteorological Society (UK), member of Nigeria and American Institute of Physics, member of New York Academy of Science.

His awards comprise: The prize from WMO Geneva, Certificate of Appreciation for contribution from Wisconsin University, Letter of Commendation from an Agency of the USA government.
