Bio
Prof Ibe is an Associate Dean of Engineering for Undergraduate Studies at the University of Massachusetts in the US.
He has made a significant contribution to the architecture, stochastic modeling, performance analysis and management of emerging communication network technologies; and significant accomplishment in engineering leadership and engineering education:
- 16 years of direct industry experience, rising up to the position of the Director of Network Architecture in major high tech companies and Chief Technology Officer in two start-ups
- As a network architect and director of network architecture in the telecommunications industry, he contributed significantly to the research and development of communication network products and services
- Won 3 teaching excellence awards in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering, UMass Lowell within a period of 12 years
- Sole author of 10 books on communication networks and applied probability, and a contributor to 5 other books
- Listed on 9 patents in different computer systems and telecommunications technologies
- Current citation of more than 1450, h-index of 18 and i10-index of 31 in Google Scholar
- As a faculty advisor of the National Society of Black Engineering UML chapter, he contributed to the success of many at-risk black students who would otherwise have dropped out of their engineering programmes
