After her baccalaureate degree in 1987, Mophou went to France to continue her studies. She obtained her Advanced study Diploma (D.E.A) in numerical Analysis at the University Paris VI in 1997 and began her PhD studies at the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane (University of the French West Indies and Guiana). She earned my PhD in Numerical Analysis in 2000 from the Université des Antilles et de la Guyane. Her doctoral work deals with the study of numerical schemes of non conservative systems using the method splitting methods. She obtained her Habilition to Lead Research (H.D.R) in 2010. Since 2013 She has been a Full Professor in Applied Mathematics at Université des Antilles et de la Guyane.  From April 2017 to October 2019, she had a position of German research chair sponsored by Alexander von Humboldt at AIMS Cameroon. She is also member of Laboratoire de Mathématiques informatique et Applications (LAMIA) at the Université des Antilles (UA).

Her areas of research in Applied Mathematics include Partial Differential Equations, Time Fractional Partial Differential Equations and Control Theory. Her main goal by studying these subjects is to use them for modeling environmental phenomenon in order to control them.

So far, she has trained and mentored some young researchers and five have earned their PhD diploma under her advice. Most of them are now working as lecturer at the Université des Antilles, Université de la Guyane, Université d’Etat d’Haïti (State University of Haiti). Apart from being a fellow at the African Academy of Sciences, she is also a member of the editorial board of at least seven journals.
