Bio

Prof Tayo obtained his B.Sc. in 1970 from the University of Ibadan (Nigeria) and PhD from the Wolfson College, University of Cambridge (UK) in 1974. He then held two successive postdoctoral fellowships at Iowa State University and the University of Cambridge.

He then came back to the University of Ibadan and over the following years, rose through the ranks to become full professor in 1986.

His research interests include physiology studies of crop production under humid tropical lowland conditions. He has  served in the University of Ibadan as Representative of the Department of Agriculture, Coordinator of Postgraduate Programmes, Sub-Dean of the faculty of Agriculture and member of Senate of the University; then at the University of Abeokuta as Dean of the College of Plant Science and Crop Production, member of the Governing Council and Director of the University Consultancy Service.

He is a member of the American Society of Agronomy, British Association of Soybean Scientists, New York Academy of Science and several other professional societies. He has national and international awards and recognition. He has 45 publications and 6 technical reports.
