COVID-19 in Africa: Research and Development Opportunities

This webinar aims to kick start common thinking towards defining a research agenda for the Covid-19 outbreak and provide a concerted science-based effort for combating this pandemic in Africa. Specific objectives include:
1) To define areas of research importance in the effort against the Covid-19 outbreak that African scientists can contribute towards.
2) To develop workstreams for a science-based effort for the Covid-19 outbreak with clear mandates and targets.
3) To identify otherwise unseen global gaps/opportunities that the AAS can assist the lead organizations with.
4) To develop scientific advisory units – whether focused on clinical, genetics, social sciences, human behaviour or global health, that produces up to date information for action for African governments.
