The African Academy of Sciences in partnership with African Union Development Agency AUDA-NEPAD is implementing the Africa India Mobility Fund (AIMF) which is a two-year programme designed to provide researchers from Africa and India with opportunities for short visits in either direction to explore opportunities for building and strengthening scientific collaboration.
The Wellcome Trust/DBT India Alliance and the African Academy of Sciences seek to encourage South to South collaborations and learning between the two ecosystems through this initiative. This is due to similarity in challenges faced by both continents like diseases, socio political climates and leadership required to address these issues.
The exchanges will be expected to boost knowledge growth and leadership towards common health by enhancing skills capacity.
