Academic

Thursday, 23rd June, 2022

This publication reports the study by Musa Kana et al in Kaduna, northwestern Nigeria, restricted to term birth infants, which found that, on average, infants of mothers exposed to combustion of biomass fuel weigh significantly less at birth compared with those of mothers using Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG). This study highlights the effect of biomass fuel on birth weight among term births in a Nigerian population and the need for public health intervention to mitigate it.
